Business News Network, Canada's CNBC equivalent, turns 10

Business News Network, which is Canada’s lone cable business news network, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Since ROBTv — renamed BNN in 2008 – launched on Sept. 1, 1999, it has been the destination for business stories that matter to Canadians. BNN’s team of 120 staff works to bring viewers 25 live business interviews daily, and to date have conducted more than 60,000 live interviews.

“Over the past decade, BNN has enjoyed steady growth and has been embraced by the Canadian business community” said Jack Fleischmann, general manager, in a statement. “BNN’s team is responsible for making the channel what it is today and we will rely on their talent and dedication to continue to bring Canadians the business stories that matter in the next 10 years.”

Starting today, BNN presents special vignettes within regular programming that highlight the milestones in BNN’s broadcast history as well as the stories that have captivated the business community since 1999.

Approximately 1.2 million Canadians tune to BNN for their business news every week, and BNN is available in 5.8 million households. Ninety-five percent of BNN programming is live.
