Gus Lubin, who has been editor of Tech Insider and a senior correspondent at Business Insider, has been named executive editor of Inverse, which covers science, entertainment and innovation.
Inverse founder and CEO David Nemetz wrote:
Next week, we will welcome Gus Lubin as Inverse’s new executive editor. Gus spent many years at Business Insider from their early startup days through their acquisition by Axel Springer. As the editor-in-chief of Tech Insider, he set the creative direction and built the team for the launch of a new publication. Prior to that, he was the executive editor of Business Insider, overseeing an editorial team of over 100 people for a site that grew to 55 million monthly uniques during his tenure.
Gus is passionate about science and innovation, as well as a comics, gaming, and TV/movie geek. Reporting to me, Gus will lead editorial strategy for Inverse and oversee the Science, Innovation, and Mind/Body sections. As we establish Inverse as an essential media brand for intellectually curious millennials, I couldn’t think of anyone better suited to lead us into our next phase of growth.
Lubin had been with Business Insider since 2009. He’s a Dartmouth College graduate.
