Business Insider’s Darcy hired by CNN to cover media

Oliver Darcy

Business Insider politics editor Oliver Darcy has been hired by CNN to cover media.

Darcy has been at Business Insider since June 2016.

Alex Koppelman, senior media editor at CNN, sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:

Hi everyone,

You may have already seen the news that is quite rightly getting a lot of attention on Twitter: Oliver Darcy is joining us from Business Insider, where he’s currently politics editor. Oliver is a dogged reporter with a keen eye for the stories that matter — you’ve probably seen his deeply reported, scoop-filled feature on the tumult inside the Independent Journal Review, as well as the news he broke yesterday about reporters at Breitbart being ordered not to write stories critical of Jared Kushner — and we’re thrilled to have him on the Media team. Oliver will be reporting at the intersection of media and politics with an emphasis on issues related to misinformation and credibility. Please join me in welcoming him when he starts early next month.

Darcy has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California-Merced in political science.
