Markets InsiderBusiness Insider has launched a markets data site called Markets Insider with the help of parent company Axel Springer, reports Lukas Alpert of The Wall Street Journal.

Alpert writes, “The nearly decade-old business news site is leveraging its relationship with its new corporate parent to launch MarketsInsider.com, a globally-focused markets data and news operation.

“The new site, which launches Monday, will be powered by data coming from Finanzen.net, Axel Springer’s German finance portal that crunches numbers coming from 100 exchanges around the world.

“‘Since the beginning, we have always focused on telling the stories of the markets using words, but we just didn’t have the data to go with it,’ said Business Insider’s president and chief operating officer, Julie Hansen. ‘Now we can leverage their data and experience to give our readers something more.’

“Markets Insider is designed to focus on mobile first and will offer data tools like personalized portfolios, watch lists and customizable charts. The site will be ad-supported, offering a variety of display, native and sponsored advertising.”
