Benjamin Pimentel has been hired by Business Insider as a senior technology reporter.
Pimentel, who is based in San Francisco, will cover enterprise technology and Silicon Valley, focusing on major players in corporate IT and trends shaping the industry, including cloud computing, AI, blockchain, and software-as-a-service.
“After a brief break. I’ve returned to journalism and the tech beat,” wrote Pimentel on LinkedIn. “Excited to join BI’s West Coast bureau led by Alexei Oreskovic and Matthew Weinberger and look forward to reconnecting with tech leaders, entrepreneurs, analysts, academics, engineers, PR reps and fellow journalists covering Silicon Valley and beyond.”
He most recently was head of content and communications at BlueVine in San Francisco.
Pimentel has also worked at NerdWallet as a writer covering small business and as a tech reporter for MarketWatch.com.
He also covered tech for the San Francisco Chronicle.
