Business Insider editor in chief Alyson Shontell sent out the following announcement on Tuesday:
Hi all,
Please give a warm welcome to two all stars who have recently joined the BI team.
Julia Hood is our new Head of Special Projects and will be working across the newsroom to develop amazing editorial packages, series, lists, events and more that are both brand building and also sellable to advertisers.
Julia was formerly EIC of PR Week. She has also been a founder, CEO and Chief Creative Officer, so she is quite a force.
Julia sits next to Matt Turner. Please come find her and say hello. Her about Me slide is attached.
I’d also like to welcome Drake Baer, a BI “OG” who did incredible work for us 3 years ago as our correspondent and has returned as Deputy Editor, Strategy & Exec Life.
Drake has written two books, interviewed business stars like Bill Gates, worked alongside Arianna Huffington at Thrive Global, written for New York Magazine, and was most recently Director of Content at the NeuroLeadership Institute.
He will help Lina, Joel, Debbie Strong and their teams build the success corner of our newsroom into a powerhouse news source for entrepreneurs, managers and fortune 500 C Suite execs, alike.
His About Me slide is attached and he sits next to the Success conference room.
Onward!
Alyson
