Business Insider hires Haley to cover VCs, startups
Business Insider has hired Michael Haley of Dow Jones as a VC/startups reporter.
He sill start in February and will be reporting to senior VC/startups editor Julie Bort.
He has been a research editor at Dow Jones since 2018 and has a master’s in journalism from New York University.
As a research editor, he researched and wrote about venture capital and private equity backed companies ranging from early-stage startups to unicorn’s receiving late-stage funding before filing for an IPO to companies apart of an acquisition, merger, or bankruptcy. More recently, he joined the Risk & Compliance team, where he covered individuals and entities on sanctions lists and news related to trade compliance, counter-terrorism financing, and anti-money laundering.
In addition, he’s been a contributor to Forbes Crypto & Blockchain section where he’s written about the industry’s evolution and growth into new financial areas.
