Matt Rosoff, Business Insider executive editor and global tech editor, is leaving the website for a new opportunity.
In an email to the staff, Business Insider editor Alyson Shontell wrote:
First, Matt Rosoff, who has been a great asset to BI over the past few years, has a new exciting opportunity, and has decided to move on. As with anyone who has done as much for BI as Matt, we wish him the very best.
Rosoff and a company spokesman did not reply to a Talking Biz News request for comment.
UPDATE: We’re now reporting that Rosoff has been hired as editorial director of CNBC Digital.
Rosoff has been with Business Insider since November 2014. In his most recent job, he oversaw BI’s global tech, science, and innovation tea and was the websites West Coast bureau chief. He previously was with Business Insider from October 2010 to July 2012 as West Coast editor for Silicon Alley Insider.
In between those stints, he ran an enterprise technology site, CITEworld. Previously, he was an analyst for Directions on Microsoft and blogged about music tech for CBS Interactive.
From 1995 to 2000, he was a founding editor at CNET.com.
