Brazilian business newspaper to publish WSJ content

The Wall Street Journal has announced a deal where the Brazilian business newspaper, Valor Economic, will start publishing some of its content. The content will begin appearing on Aug. 13.

Dow JonesA press release stated, “‘Valor Economico stands out in Brazil because of its editorial independence,’ said Nicolino Spina, chief executive officer of Valor Economico S.A. ‘Valor Economico publishes four sections daily with the most relevant topics of the day including stories on both the national and international markets and features commentary from the most important economists, business people, and economic analysts in Brazil.’

“‘The relationship with Valor Economico’s print and Web editions will extend the Journal’s reach into Brazil’s most influential business community through Journal-branded pages of news, analysis and advertising,’ said Bill Casey, vice president of international for The Wall Street Journal.

“The Wall Street Journal Special Editions are bannered pages of news and articles from The Wall Street Journal, published in local language in leading newspapers around the world. Stories will be selected, translated and paginated by The Wall Street Journal Americas team at the Dow Jones Harborside office in Jersey City, N.J.
