In the memo, McGrory stated:
One Super Department allows for more collaboration and coordination, a far more efficient operation, and a smarter clustering of beats and reporters to better serve readers. Some beats are meant to last but a few months, others longer, but all will need to be constantly reassessed.
Edelman joined the paper in May 2015. He previously was senior deputy editor at The Wall Street Journal, where he was responsible for real-time coverage of markets and finance, and assisted with the planning and editing of the Money & Investing section.
Prior to that, he spent a decade at Bloomberg as a team leader, senior enterprise editor, and managing editor for investing and real estate.
