Kelsey Sutton of Politico interviewed Bloomberg Television’s Betty Liu about her podcast where she interviews executives.

POLITICO: At the end of October, you launched Radiate, a weekly podcast that features intimate conversations with accomplished leaders, entrepreneurs and CEOs (http://bit.ly/1SSo7N5). Where did the idea for this podcast come from?
LIU: The idea came out of some of the work I already do on Bloomberg Television where I interview some of the most successful minds and thought leaders in business. Sometimes I extended those conversations beyond the television studio to one-on-one conversations over lunch or drinks. I always have wanted to hear about people’s careers. Even as I advanced in my career, I always had more questions. If I had all these questions, I’m sure there were people with great answers to them, and great stories as well. So I just took what I was learning from people outside of the formal interview and decided that there must be a format where we could have these conversations, record them, and air them for people to listen to. I got turned on to “Serial” last year, and “Startup Podcast,” and I thought — podcasting is the perfect platform where people can casually have a conversation. I thought, let’s take these conversations and air them and see how people react.
