January 12, 2011

Bloomberg Television announced Wednesday that Forbes senior editor Robyn Meredith has joined the network as a Hong Kong-based correspondent.

Meredith, who has a decade of experience reporting on Asia and global economic trends, will cover business and financial news for Bloomberg Television across the Asia-Pacific region.  She is the author of the 2007 New York Times best-seller, “The Elephant and the Dragon: The Rise of India and China and What It Means for All of Us.”

“Robyn is a talented and experienced journalist who can give our viewers insightful perspectives on current global economic news,” said Brian Martinez, international managing director, Bloomberg Television, in a statement. “She will be a valuable addition to our growing team in Hong Kong as we continue our investment in the region.”

Prior to joining Bloomberg Television, Meredith served as senior editor, Asia for Forbes, also based in Hong Kong.  She joined Forbes in April 2000 as the magazine’s Detroit Bureau Chief and moved to Hong Kong in 2001. Previously, Meredith spent five years covering Detroit for The New York Times, and she has also written for USA Today and American Banker.

She received a B.A., cum laude, in English Literature from Boston University and spent the 1998-1999 academic year as a Knight-Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan Business School.
