Bloomberg LP founder Michael Bloomberg sent out the following announcement to his staff and customers after Great Britain voted to leave the European Union:
British voters yesterday faced a momentous choice, and while I had hoped they would decide to stay in the EU, I made it clear that however the vote went, Bloomberg would remain fully committed to the U.K. — and we will.We employ nearly 4,000 staff in the U.K., which is home to many of our major clients. And our new London headquarters will open next year. We will be in London for the long haul.Our priority is to continue to provide outstanding client service as the U.K. and our clients begin a transition period. We have prepared for this outcome and have put contingency plans and additional staff in place to respond to any resulting abnormal market volume and volatility.As always, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
