Bloomberg News global finance executive editor Caroline Gage sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:

All,

I’m absolutely delighted to announce that Michael Moore will succeed Sree Vidya Bhaktavatsalam as managing editor for EMEA Finance.

Michael joined Bloomberg in 2008 as a summer intern, just in time for the depths of the financial crisis. Since then, he’s established himself as one of the newsroom’s smartest minds on banking — and a thoughtful and dedicated leader. He brings sharp editing skills and a calmness under fire that are sure to be appreciated in a group that consistently breaks a torrent of news. I’m also particularly excited about the potential to elevate our storytelling as Michael partners with Sree in her new role overseeing the Hub in Europe.

This won’t be Michael’s first stint in London. Before returning to New York in 2017 to take the helm of the U.S. finance team, Michael ran the U.K. finance team. As a reporter, he covered Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley. Michael and his wife, Sarah, plan to relocate back across the pond in early in 2021 — this time arriving with two small children in tow.

Please join me in congratulating Michael on his well-deserved promotion. We will be posting the U.S. finance team leader position shortly.

Caroline
