James Nani has been hired by Bloomberg Law’s corporate team as its New York-based correspondent to cover bankruptcy developments beginning in November.
Nani has been covering state and local tax issues at Law360’s Tax Authority news wire for the last four years. His last day at Law360 was Oct. 29.
Nani has written about various state and local tax issues, including covering litigation between former President Donald Trump and New York prosecutors over obtaining various tax information from him and his businesses. He covered various tax-related legislation, regulation, court actions and general tax policy.
He covered many issues stemming out of the U.S. Supreme Court’s seminal South Dakota v. Wayfair decision, proposals to raise taxes on the wealthy, cut taxes for corporations, digital advertising tax proposals and lobbying related to New York’s tax whistleblower law.
Nani previously worked at the Times Herald-Record in Middletown, New York, covering a wide range of issues within the mid-Hudson Valley that included government, crime, development and lifestyle issues.
