Bloomberg Industry hires Serrano-Román to cover state tax policy

Bloomberg Industry Group has hired Angelica Serrano-Román to cover state tax policy.

She will move to Washington. She has been interning on the Latin America desk at Bloomberg News.

Serrano-Román was a fellow for CNBC’s investigative unit. Before joining CNBC, she worked as a freelance reporter for Puerto Rico’s Center for Investigative Journalism where she covered government and business news while also fact-checking public officials’ claims.

Serrano-Román also interned at the New York Daily News and El Nuevo Día, the island’s largest newspaper. Her work has been published in local and U.S. mainland media, including NBC, Metro, Caribbean Business, and the Orlando Sentinel. She has been awarded scholarships by Facebook, ProPublica, the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the New York Financial Writers’ Association and the Investigative Reporters and Editors.

Serrano-Román graduated summa cum laude from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She completed a master’s degree in business and economic reporting from New York University in December 2021.
