Bloomberg News has hired Davide Scigliuzzo from Reuters to cover the world of leverage in corporate America.

His last day at Reuters is Wednesday. He starts at Bloomberg in September.

In a farewell note to his Reuters colleagues, Scigliuzzo wrote:

I am truly grateful for the opportunities I have had to work with so many talented colleagues, meet interesting people and travel during my six years here.

I never would have imagined that writing about bonds would one day lead me to share an awkward elevator ride with Janet Yellen and Mario Draghi or chase finance ministers across sandy beaches in the Bahamas. I have had a blast — and learned a lot from all of you.

I am sure our paths will cross again.

Scigliuzzo has been at Reuters since July 2012, first in London where he covered capital markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

For the past four years, he has been in New York covering credit markets across the U.S. and Latin America. He writes about corporate and sovereign bonds as well as broader investment trends in emerging and developed markets for International Financing Review and Reuters.

He previously was a Latin America analyst at BMI Research.

Scigliuzzo holds a bachelor’s degree from Università Bocconi in Italy and a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in international relations and international economics.
