BizWest Media to license its business-news content to Prairie Mountain Media

Prairie Mountain Media and BizWest Media LLC have formed an agreement according to which BizWest will license its business news content for publication in Prairie Mountain’s regional publications and websites.

This would include all of Prairie Mountain’s publications and websites within the BizWest coverage area, including Boulder Daily Camera, Longmont Times-Call, Loveland Reporter-Herald, Broomfield Enterprise and Colorado Hometown Weekly, with daily content created by BizWest appearing on those publications’ websites and in their print editions.

Prairie Mountain Media publishes 22 news publications in Colorado along with catering to various niche publications and websites. It also operates a commercial printing facility.

BizWest Media publishes BizWest, a regional business publication that covers Boulder, Broomfield, Larimer and Weld counties including Brighton and Westminster.

“This new and innovative partnership is truly a win-win for both organizations. Our readers will be getting far more business news than ever before in print and online,” said Al Manzi, president and CEO of Prairie Mountain Media. “It ensures local business news remains robust across our collective footprint. It gives our readers far more business news than ever before and it helps preserve and enrich community journalism.”

“This collaboration will increase the business coverage available to our readers in print and online,” central news editor Julie Vossler-Henderson said. “We look forward to working with BizWest to best serve all our readers.”

BizWest also will produce original content for the Boulder Daily Camera’s weekly Business Plus section and Times-Call Sunday Business section.

“This unprecedented collaboration between a regional business journal and a publisher of daily and weekly newspapers makes the best possible use of all resources and expertise,” said Christopher Wood, editor and publisher of BizWest. “It’s an example of innovation and experimentation in a rapidly changing media landscape. It brings new financial resources to BizWest, and it provides quality content for the talented editors at Prairie Mountain and its readers.”

However, BizWest will still remain a locally owned and operated publication and will receive a monthly licensing and editing fee from Prairie Mountain.
