Biz reporter becomes opinion page editor

Thomas Gnau, a former business reporter, is one of the new editors of the Hamilton Journal News editorial page, according to a short story in the paper.

Gnau, The Middletown Journal’s business writer, has been named Cox Ohio’s Southwest Group’s deputy editorial page editor.

Gnau, 39, was a business and city government reporter at the Fairborn Daily Herald in 1991 before joining The Middletown Journal in 1998 as business reporter. He also has worked as Middletown’s acting editorial page editor in Williams’ absence.

This year, Gnau was named the ‘Best Business Writer’ by the Associated Press Society of Ohio and also won third place for ‘Best Business Reporting.’ Last year, he was runner-up as APSO’s ‘Best Business Writer.’
