Almar Latour, publisher and executive vice president of Dow Jones Media Group, sent out the following announcement on Wednesday:
Colleagues,
I’m extremely pleased to share that Daniel Bernard is appointed SVP for Barron’s.
In this new role at Dow Jones Media Group, Daniel will accelerate Barron’s digital transformation and drive commercial growth and innovation on all platforms. He’ll work closely with Katherine Bell, Editor in Chief of Barron’s, who joined recently from Harvard Business Review.
These appointments mark an exciting new chapter for Barron’s, building on its rich 96-year history of unrivaled financial journalism.
Daniel brings deep knowledge of financial and digital media. Most recently, he was Chief Product Officer and SVP at Gannett. Prior to that, he led the team that overhauled the the digital presence of Time, Fortune and Money. He once appeared on the cover of Adweek as an “App Master” and one of the leading mobile strategists to watch.
Daniel’s arrival at Barron’s is a home coming of sorts: he previously was Chief Product Officer for the Wall Street Journal Digital Network and, prior to that, General Manager for The Wall Street Journal Online. He also worked as head of advertising development at Reuters, and as director of advertising development at MarketWatch.com.
Daniel will start on Sept. 29. He will report to me.
Please join me in congratulating Daniel in this pivotal new role.
Almar
