The BBC will begin an evaluation of how it covers business and economic issues, according to a story in the Sunday Telegraph.
“It is believed that the BBC governance unit is close to appointing a panel of independent experts to judge the broadcaster’s business output.
“The panel will look at whether there is sufficient business coverage on the BBC and whether coverage is accessible to the general public and those without specialist knowledge of the subject.

“He said: ‘Business news is now more important than it ever has been. Business now encroaches into nearly all areas of public life and there is a growing appreciation that the BBC has to do more to address that.'”
