BBC News is moving U.S. business reporter Paul Blake to Dubai to become its Middle East business reporter to increase its business coverage from the region on its international outlets.

Blake has been reporting for the international broadcaster for seven years, covering business stories across the United States. He was one of the first journalists to report from last year’s devastating Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean. He has also covered stories including the Whitefish power scandal in Puerto Rico and Trump’s trade wars with China.

Blake will be broadcasting live from the Dubai Business bureau, as well as reporting from around the region for TV, radio and online. The role will also entail coverage for BBC World News programs such as “Click,” “The Travel Show” and “Talking Movies.”

He will also report on major business stories for BBC News’s UK audiences across multiple platforms.

“This is an incredibly exciting time to be in this region,” said Blake in a statement. “Huge investments are being made, and world-class events staged.  I’m thrilled to be covering business and economics in the Middle East for BBC News, and I’m looking forward bringing our global audiences the stories that matter from the region.”
