Bartiromo named Giant of Broadcasting

Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo was named a Giant of Broadcasting by the Library of American Broadcasting on Thursday.

The celebration, which was presented by the International Radio and Television Society Foundation, benefits the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation.

The Library created the Giants to honor the remarkable creators, innovators, entrepreneurs, performers and journalists who have brought the electronic arts to the prominence they occupy in the United States and the world today, and who have set the stage for the future.

Other honorees this year include Tom Brokaw of NBC News and Steve Kroft of “60 Minutes.”

Bartiromo joined Fox Business Network in January 2014 as global markets editor after a 20-year career at CNBC. In 1995, she became the first journalist to report live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange on a daily basis.
