Barron’s hires Welsch as a reporter

Andrew Welsch

Barron’s has hired Andrew Welsch as a reporter.

He is covering financial advisors, wealth management firms and regulation.

Welsch previously was the managing editor of Financial Planning, where he oversaw a team of five reporters, curated a slate of daily and weekly newsletters for financial advisors and helped set editorial goals for the publication.

He was also a senior editor for On Wall Street and Financial Planning. Welsch was also a reporter for the New York City News Service.

He holds a master’s degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in business journalism.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
