Barron’s editor in chief Bell has resigned

Katherine Bell

Almar Latour, the publisher and executive vice president of the Barron’s Group, sent out the following on Monday:

Colleagues,

I’d like to share that Katherine Bell has decided to step down as Editor in Chief of Barron’s to pursue new opportunities.

Katherine helped create a new, modern foundation for Barron’s, on which we will continue to build as our push for growth accelerates. During her tenure, Katherine oversaw the integration of the newsroom’s print and digital operations; the redesign of Barrons.com; the launch of podcasts and our prize-winning Preview & Review newsletter; coverage expansion in tech, retirement and impact investing; and the design of a forthcoming print overhaul. Barron’s reached an all-time record number of readers just last month.

Executive Editor Bob Rose will be in charge of the print and digital Barron’s Magazine newsroom while we conduct a search for a new editor.

We will celebrate Katherine’s successful tenure on the evening of April 11th. For now, please join me in thanking her for her contributions to our publication and in wishing her success in her next chapter.

Almar

Bell joined Barron’s in August 2017 from Harvard Business Review, where she was the editor of HBR.org and oversaw editorial innovation across all of HBR’s platforms.
