Axios has hired Stephen Totilo, the former editor in chief of the gaming industry site Kotaku, to launch a gaming newsletter.
The newsletter is expected to launch this spring. Totilo started at Axios on Monday.
Totilo had been Kotaku’s editor in chief since 2012 and had been with the publication since 2009. Kotaku launched in 2004.
Under his leadership, “the site became a destination for coverage of labor and harassment issues in the gaming industry and launched the careers of a number of prominent games journalists. Many of these writers and editors left Kotaku as the relationship between the staff and the parent company, G/O Media, deteriorated,” reported Gene Park and Mikhail Klimentov of The Washington Post.
