Automotive News, a Crain publication, has hired Peter Bigelow to cover autonomous vehicles and mobility.
Bigelow has been the transportation, technology and mobility editor at Car and Driver magazine since June 2016.
Before that, he spent four-and-a-half years at AOL, reporting for its two automotive news outlets, the consumer-oriented AOL Autos and industry-focused Autoblog. He covered the intersection of the law, technology and cars. Under that banner, he reported on national trends involving development of self-driving cars, privacy and civil-liberties issues within the driving realm and automotive car-hacking threats.
He also worked for Michigan Radio as the online editor of Changing Gears, a public-radio project that chronicled the rusting and reinvention of the industrial Midwest. And he was the sports editor of the Ann Arbor News.
Bigelow is a Rutgers University graduate.
