Tom Russo, a copy editor for the Atlanta Business Chronicle for the past 15 years, has been laid off.
In an email to Talking Biz News, Russo wrote:
This is an indication of how the media world is changing. That’s not a bad thing — just a real one. Video didn’t kill the radio star, and magazines and newspapers aren’t going anywhere.
The delivery method may change, and affect some of us. I believe Edward R. Murrow (and I do not fit in that class at all) worked in both radio and TV. One door has closed; more will open.
Russo was previously a copy editor for the Delaware State News. He is a graduate of SUNY-Oswego.
David Allison, the editor of the Atlanta Business Chronicle, did not reply to a message seeking comment.
