American Banker has appointed Alan Kline as its new editor-in-chief.
He replaces Rob Blackwell, who departs Friday.
Kline is currently a senior editor at American Banker. He also worked at US Banker where he oversaw production, design and content of monthly magazine covering the retail banking industry. He won a Jesse H. Neal Award last year for covering the dramatic increase in consumer credit
He also served as a community banking editor and a business reporter for American Banker and The Washington Times respectively. Kline was also a reporter for the Baltimore Business Journal.
Kline is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park.
