Omeokwe joins the Wall Street Journal’s DC bureau as economics reporter

Amara Omeokwe is leaving “Morning Edition,” NPR’s flagship morning program, to join The Wall Street Journal’s DC bureau as an economics reporter.

Previously, she worked for Time Warner Cable News in North Carolina as a video journalist/reporter covering general assignment and breaking news stories. She got her start in news at NBC Universal, working her way up from the East Coast Page Program to producing at CNBC. During her four years at CNBC, Omeokwe covered a wide range of financial topics, including Wall Street banks, M&A, IPOs, and the daily market action in stocks, bonds and options.

A native New Yorker, she has a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
