The special committee that oversees editorial integrity at The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires has issued a report.
“Our discussions with these leaders continue. We will continue as well to be vigilant, talking to reporters and editors, monitoring coverage, making ourselves available to any staff journalist with even a suspicion of unethical conduct. That is why we exist.
“We are not apologists for the owners, nor do we constitute a Committee Against Change. We are meant to be monitors of journalistic integrity on behalf of the staff and, importantly, on behalf of this newspaper’s readers. We intend to continue to play just that role.”
