Kate Burlaga has joined The Athletic as deputy news editor. She has worked as a soccer editor, writer and content consultant. Previously, Burlaga worked at Sky Sports as a sports journalist and then deputy soccer editor. She has also freelanced with Sky Sports and the Guardian/Observer.
