Yahoo Finance hires Bloomberg’s Mills as on-air host

Yahoo Finance has hired Mady Mills from Bloomberg to be an on-air host and multimedia reporter.

She has been a reporter and anchor at Bloomberg News where she co-hosts a daily markets show and report for Bloomberg Originals.

Previously, she covered gender and politics for The Cut at New York Magazine. While there, she produced an award-winning documentary on the Parkland shooting survivors, following a group of teenage girls as they recovered from the tragedy.

Before this, she covered politics and breaking news at the New York Times as a video journalist for the Facebook Live team. In this role, she went live on the New York Times social accounts four to six times a day while in the field reporting on the 2016 election.

Mills is a graduate of the University of Southern Californa.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
