WSJ’s Trentmann, CFO Journal bureau chief, departs

Nina Trentmann

Nina Trentmann, the CFO Journal bureau chief at The Wall Street Journal, has left the publication.

Trentmann joined the Journal in London in September 2016 as a news editor for CFO Journal and relocated to the New York office in July 2019.

Prior to her time at CFO Journal, Trentmann worked as a U.K.-based business and finance correspondent for German media group Welt. Before that, she reported for Welt and other German business publications out of Shanghai.

Trentmann earned a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Fudan University in Shanghai. She also holds a magister artium from Bonn University in Germany.

She began her journalism career freelancing for the local newspaper in her hometown Osnabrück, Lower Saxony.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
