Alicia McElhaney has been hired by The Wall Street Journal to be a reporter on its Pro bankruptcy team.
She has been at Institutional Investor for the past seven years, also writing the Essential Allocator newsletter. While there, she completed a nine-month-long investigation into the world’s largest asset manager that revealed a pattern of sexism, racism, and sexual harassment that led to an internal investigation
McElhaney previously wrote stock stories for TheStreet and auction stories for The Deal. She also contributed to weekly columns and newsletters for The Deal and wrote copy that appears alongside videos on TheStreet’s website.
McElhaney is a University of Maryland graduate.
While in college, she interned at TheStreet as a Dow Jones News Fund business reporting intern.
