I’m pleased to share that The Wall Street Journal is now live on TikTok.
This is the latest step to introduce the Journal to younger and more diverse audiences. Our team has developed a creative and fun voice for the platform, a fast-growing source for news, while still providing trustworthy reporting and information.
Our TikTok presence will focus on areas like personal finance, careers and technology, and feature familiar newsroom faces sharing their reporting and expertise. We’ll include celebrity interviews and storytelling from WSJ. Magazine, and we have plans to showcase the big moments and insights from events such as Tech Live, CEO Council and Future of Everything.
The channel is driven by Senior Platform Editor Julia Munslow, under the leadership of Visual Storytelling Editor Megan Douglass. The entire Off-Platform team, especially Matt Riva, Brian Byrne, Sorayah Zahir and Yati Sanghvi, will provide essential editing and production support.
TikTok is a platform with its own language and culture. We’ll look for opportunities to tap into trends and show our sense of humor at times, but keep our high standards and purpose in mind.
Many thanks to everyone who helped shape this endeavor, especially Jennifer Hicks, to whom the team reports; Megan, Julia and Patrick Hedlund; and the Standards and the Life & Work and Magazine teams. Follow @wallstreetjournal on TikTok to keep up with the team’s work.
