
Lori Becker, the departing Nashville Business Journal publisher, writes about her time at the Tennessee newspaper.
Becker writes, “From the Great Recession to a 100-year flood, a development boom to a pandemic, my tenure at the NBJ has tracked with one of the most transformative times in Nashville’s history. For more than a decade, Nashville has ranked among the fastest- growing cities in the country. At one point, we had more cranes in our skyline than any city in America.
“I was in the catbird seat.
“The NBJ has not just chronicled the growth. We’ve shaped the trajectory of the region’s economy, convening leaders across the community to foster conversations on issues that matter most, such as workforce, innovation and economic development. We’ve been a central force in the region’s growth, a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
“It’s been one of the most rewarding times of my life. I’m incredibly proud of this team and what we’ve achieved together over the past two decades.”
