Wang joins Toronto Star investigations team as business reporter

Sheila Wang

Toronto Star reporter Sheila Wang is joining its investigations team as a business-focused reporter.

She has been covering municipal politics and general news in Richmond Hill and King Township.

Wang has also served as a data journalist at Standard-Examiner and was an intern/data reporter at Investigative Reporting Workshop. She has also worked as a reporter/newscast producer at KOMU-TV. Wang was also an English editor at CCTV News Content and has served as a director and English researcher at Blue Ocean Network.

Wang holds a master’s degree in international journalism from the Communication University of China and another master’s degree in journalism from University of Missouri-Columbia.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
