Evan Hoopfer, a real estate reporter for the Triangle Business Journal, is leaving for a communications job at a state agency.
He has been with the American City Business Journals paper since July 2021. He has been covering real estate, economic development, and other business news within the counties of Lee, Moore, Johnston, Chatham, Franklin, Nash, Harnett and Granville — areas that are experiencing significant success.
Hoopfer was previously at the Dallas Business Journal, a sister publication, where he was an assistant managing editor and a reporter. He had been with the Dallas paper since April 2016.
Hoopfer was a metro desk intern for the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University, where he was editor of the student newspaper.
