Longtime aviation journalist John Walton has launched The Up Front to cover the industry.
Subscriptions start at 99 pounds a year.
The primary funding will be through individual subscriptions, and by readers working in the industry through company subscriptions. The Up Front is planning that roughly half its work will be exclusive to its subscribers, with the other half available to read for free.
It has also created a “simple and intentionally nonintrusive single weekly advertiser slot,” with the advertising team walled off from the editorial team.
The editor in chief is Walton, who has been covering the aviation industry for more than a decade.
