The Economist announced Monday that it has signed its first AI-focused deal with Google’s NotebookLM.

The NotebookLM now includes expert analysis and predictions for the year 2025 as shared in The World Ahead annual report by The Economist

“This is the first AI-focused partnership The Economist has signed and we are excited for NotebookLM users to explore a selection of articles from The Economist’s annual special issue, The World Ahead 2025,” said Luke Bradley-Jones, president of The Economist, in a statement. “This public notebook will feature our forward-looking journalism, examining what we view to be the most important trends and events shaping this year. This is one of many ways The Economist is experimenting with AI.

Bradley Jones added:  “Our AI strategy is built on a principle of creating engaging and differentiated AI powered experiences based on the rigorous, in-depth and independent journalism of The Economist. Our partnership with Google is consistent with this approach and we look forward to learning from this collaboration.”
