Tech reporter Jon Keegan was laid off at Sherwood News on Tuesday.
“Very proud of the work I did at Sherwood covering Big Tech and AI,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “Absolutely killer team of journalists that I loved working with.”
Sherwood is a news service launched by retail trading company Robinhood, which cut 10 percent of its workforce this week.
Keegan previously worked as an investigative data journalist at The Markup. He previously spent 18 years at The Wall Street Journal working as a visual correspondent and director of interactive graphics.
He has also been at the Tow Center for Digital Journalism as a senior research fellow and teaches as an adjunct professor at Columbia University.
He writes a newsletter called “Beautiful Public Data.”
