Danielle Abril, who covered tech at work for The Washington Post, was among the layoffs this week.
She previously worked for Fortune based in San Francisco. Abril previously founded DigiNews DFW and was the former managing editor of D CEO magazine.
Abril previously served as the technology reporter for the Dallas Business Journal. During her three years there, she launched TechFlash, a daily online newsletter that covered technology and startup stories across Dallas-Fort Worth.
Before joining the Business Journal, Abril spent three years at The Dallas Morning News, reporting for metro and neighbors sections of the paper. There, she focused coverage on cities across Collin County.
She began her journalism career in 2008 at Business News Group, which produces niche publications in Dallas-Fort Worth.
