Phoebe Liu
Amir Efrati of The Information sent out the following on Friday to the staff:
Team,
Please give a warm welcome to Phoebe Liu, who is joining The Information to lead our coverage of Nvidia.
Phoebe will get inside the world’s most valuable company, which is at the center of a once-in-a-generation boom and led by a relentless CEO doing everything he can to extend its dominance (and outsize profits).
Phoebe is well positioned for this monumental beat, given her work at Forbes over the last three and a half years. She covered numerous billionaire entrepreneurs, wild and shady startups, and scooped an xAI funding pitch. She also took a particular interest in Nvidia co-founder Curtis Priem; CoreWeave, an Nvidia vassal in the neocloud field; and Groq, which Nvidia essentially acquired for $20 billion.
She has a bachelor’s degree in statistics and data science from Yale. She’s also an experienced orchestral violinist, a runner, and can write code (Python included).
Phoebe will soon make the trek from the Tri-State Area to San Francisco, where she starts on June 1.
Please send Phoebe any moving-related tips!
