Substack’s pols move, LA Times combines newsletters, NY Times writer named Pulliam Fellow

Catherine Valentine (pictured) has joined Substack as head of politics after a senior publicist stint at the Washington Post. The Los Angeles Times has merged its Essential California and Today’s Headlines newsletters, and New York Times scribe Jesse Wegman is now a 2023 Eugene C. Pulliam Fellow. He intends to retrace the 1830s route taken by French nobleman Alexis de Tocqueville. C’est magnifique!
