Stokes to cover health tech for Insider

Samantha Stokes

Insider reporter Samantha Stokes is shifting to a new beat covering health tech and mental health tech on the venture capital and startups team.

She has previously been on the finance team. Stokes also covered the legal beat — how the industry is changing and the intersection of law firms and professional services firms — and the  professional services industry with a focus on audit, tax, advisory and consulting firms.

Prior to joining Business Insider, Stokes was a business reporter for the legal industry trade publication The American Lawyer.

Samantha graduated from the University of Missouri and Columbia Journalism School.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
