STAT News has named Elaine Chen as its national biotechnology reporter.
She joined the publication in November 2022 as its first cardiovascular reporter. Chen has been covering all aspects of heart and metabolic conditions, including diabetes and obesity.
Recently, Chen was at Bloomberg News, where she worked as a cross-asset reporter, rotational reporter and finance reporting intern. She also interned at The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune Media Group, The Sacramento Bee and Chalkbeat.
Chen has a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
