The San Francisco Chronicle has hired Laura Waxmann to cover commercial real estate.
A story on its website states, “Waxmann is a veteran Bay Area journalist whose bylines at the San Francisco Business Times were essential reading for anyone interested in the region’s real estate market. She’ll continue that coverage at the Chronicle, while also providing perspective to how the shifting real estate dynamics play into the city’s downtown recovery.
“‘I’m excited to join the San Francisco Chronicle’s talented staff in keeping our readers informed with high-impact and scoop-driven reporting,’ Waxmann said. ‘After working in local newsrooms for nearly a decade, I’ve had the opportunity to get to know San Francisco from many angles. With the city changing seemingly faster than ever, thoughtful coverage of the most transformative business and economic issues that stand to shape all aspects of life in San Francisco is critical.’
“Waxmann will report to Robert Morast, the Chronicle’s Transformation editor, and will join that team focused on covering the real time evolution of San Francisco.”
