Angelica Serrano-Román is moving to the bankruptcy beat at Bloomberg Law.
She has been covering state tax policy since joining the news organization in 2022.
Serrano-Román was a fellow for CNBC’s investigative unit. Before joining CNBC, she worked as a freelance reporter for Puerto Rico’s Center for Investigative Journalism where she covered government and business news while also fact-checking public officials’ claims.
Serrano-Román also interned at the New York Daily News and El Nuevo Día, the island’s largest newspaper. Her work has been published in local and U.S. mainland media, including NBC, Metro, Caribbean Business, and the Orlando Sentinel.
Serrano-Román graduated summa cum laude from Universidad del Sagrado Corazón with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She completed a master’s degree in business and economic reporting from New York University in December 2021.
