Semafor has hired Andrew Browne as managing editor of live journalism.
Browne’s focus will be producing the editorial program for the World Economy Summit, now the largest gathering of Fortune 500 executives in the U.S., while writing a regular column on global business.
He has spent the last three years as a partner with the Brunswick Group.
Previously, Browne was Asia-Pacific news editor for Reuters, and China editor of The Wall Street Journal. He wrote columns on business and economics for the Journal and Bloomberg Opinion, and was an on-air commentator for NBC at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
In 2018, Browne helped launch the Bloomberg New Economy Forum as editorial director.
